Slow going...

I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while.  My Mom tells me this every day.  So, here are some updates for you:

My knitting...I can't lie, it has been struggling a bit.  The past couple weeks I have been busy with some other projects and just haven't had the time.  I miss it. Cherry should have been done by now.  Tangled Yoke is stalled after about an inch of progress.  My queue is bursting with projects I want to cast on for but haven't had a chance to. Argh.

Things are looking up though.  Enter...plane knitting.

My trip...I type this post from New York City.  I have been in the city for the last two days visiting friends and am headed to a conference tomorrow.  Every time I come I remember how much I like it here.  I love New York (not that show though--the show makes me want to throw up a little.)   I took my Tangled Yoke as my trip project.  I haven't been done a lot of knitting yet as I have been busy walking around town and eating a lot of food.  NYC has the best food.  Thankfully, you also walk everywhere.  Currently my feet are feeling the pain of that amount of walking.

The sewing machine...I know I said I was going to buy a machine, but that was until my Mom said she would lend me one of hers until she comes back to live in the states.  So when I visit Utah in October, I am bringing back with me a sewing machine.  Lounge pants here I come!!!  I will for sure keep you updated on that front.

Knitting Daily...most of you know by now that I work for Interweave and part of the time on Knitting Daily.  I don't really talk about it because this is my personal blog and I have never talked about other companies I have worked for on my blog so I don't see me doing much of that now.  But hey, the knit world is a small one and I had gotten some emails so, yes, that is me in Sandi's galleries-- I am the tall girl whose torso is way too long for most knitted samples.  And yes, it is super fun to be involved with such a cool project.

Well, I am off to do some knitting before bed.  Will write more when I get back.  Have a good week everybody!

Ooh--I love New York too. Especially the walking. That's one thing I don't like about the West--it's not a walking kind of place. At least not Salt Lake.

Glad to hear you're coming to SLC in October--I hope you'll have a minute to drop by the S'nB!

is this now becoming like the cobblers daughter who has no shoes??? the interweave employee who has no knits???
I hope that you find some relaxing times on your trip!!

I had no idea about your employer until I saw you on your sister's blog! I'm glad that you keep this blog personal. We lost Eunny and I don't want to loose you too. Most importantly, I MISS your posts!!! Hopefully, you're having fun enjoying the other aspects of your new life...

Whoa, mom guilt on blog posts! And if you're like me, I have a feeling there is some queue induced guilt going on too. Enjoy NYC, enjoy what little knitting you get to do, and may I recommend the wide leg lounge pants from Amy Butler's In Stitches for the sewing project? I've got two pair and I love them!

Hey, welcome back! Tangled Yoke has a bit of slogging to it, don't feel at all badly.

And hooray for working on Knitting Daily--the link you posted was perhaps the most useful knitting link I've seen *ever*. I have always wished the magazine would put in ease information along with the sweater size.

Fun trip. It will be fun to meet you if you make it to S'nB in October. Yea for mom's and their stuff that they lend us. I have my mom's whole knitting library in my basement. Lucky me!

Glad to hear that all's well, and that you're enjoying the career change. Now we understand the reason for less posts!

Enjoy NYC! I don't live too far from the city, but I don't really appreciate it until I hear about others' experiences. Hope you get a lot of knitting done, and also get some rest. It sounds like you are still feeling overwhelmed and maybe need some downtime.

I now know where the rest of my short legs went. Please give them back, LOL. :) I'm not petite, but my pants are always too long. :)

My dear Erin, I was so happy to see a post from you. I have missed you! I don't know that I'll get a chance to see you while you are in town, but I certainly will be thinking about you. I promise I am still going to come visit. We'll talk about it. Hope New York is awesome. I'm going to call you and we'll chat soon. Love ya!
