Words
Words are a powerful tool. I was reminded of this through several events recently--the last being Imus and his ignorant, racist, and sexist words said on the radio. Words mean something. They can hurt, heal, uplift, degrade, clarify, mislead, and empower. After some reflection on words this week, I am resolved to use mine more carefully.
There. I said my peace about the heavy stuff. Now onto the knitting. All this talk about words...for some things however, I have no words.

(Sigh.)
And close up:

I think Kim Hargreaves should be my new best friend. You hear that Kim? BFF's forever.

Blithe is looking gorgeous. Can't wait to see!
No luck about the jacket pattern yet... but I've posted in a couple of forums and am hoping someone will recognize it. I'll be sure to let ya know when I find it... I am determined!

That is a nice thought about the words and their weight. I recently made a comment that made another commenter feel slighted (it was all very unintentional), I plan to do a little more thinking before putting my words out there too.
I like that knit you have in progress. I think it's all ready pretty so I am sure it will be gorgeous when you are all done!

How 'bout one word? Gorgeous!!!!
If you can't say something nice, come sit next to me! J/K. Stupid, stupid Imus.
Hopefully, I've never said anything that would intentionally hurt another person.

Your Blithe is looking good.

The weirdest think about the whole Imus situation is that he got fired for doing exactly what his employers (CBS radio) paid him to do: be an offensive, bigoted, provocateur. If only the same were true for Ann Coulter.

Blithe is looking fantastic! I think you chose the best color for it, too.

that Kim sure knows how to design knitwear. i look at her website and drool and then i'm very sad that rowan yarns are so expensive.

Your Blithe is stunning, so delicate with such gorgeous detail!

Amazing!! Perhaps unintentionally, your post reminds us to look at and comment upon the beautiful things around us ("Whatsoever is true, noble, lovely, etc...), rather than the hateful, hurtful ones. If we all appreciated the beauty in one another and one another's work, what a different world it would be. :)

Lovely! That's the next one I would order from Kim's site. I love your colour choice as well. Well done!

Simply elegant. I may have to try to become friends with Kim, too. Maybe I can call her Kimmie if we get close.

Love this........I really want to make this and have been waiting to see the finished photos of yours....love the color you chose too!

SO totally awesome.

Yours is looking good! I've been disgustingly slow with knitting lately, so I'm just coming up on the 15 straight rows before the split for the neckline. Isn't that awful?

Looks so good! I am definitely going to make sure I get this for a birthday gift. I might even have to make the same color, although the Aubergine is very pretty, too.

Lovely. Don't you wish you could be best friends with KH? Just like that? She'd probably give you all the patterns you'd want for free. Sigh.
